Spring is sprung (although this week winter roared back for a last stand). I took these photos last week, when it was sunny with temps in high 70s and breezy skies.

destruction

This is what is happening in our house at the moment. The last rainstorm we had was “the straw that broke the camel’s back” so to speak, and the little leak that we had had a few years ago sprung forth like a flood.

Our dining room and upstairs deck are being rebuilt. With luck, it won’t take too long and we’ll have a nice watertight finish when they are done. We’ll also probably take this opportunity to repaint the dining room to add a bit of style. :)

morning ducks

morning ducks
morning ducks: This duck couple comes up to our door every morning waiting for our toast leftovers.

These ducks are nesting next to our pond at the moment, and every morning, they sit by the sliding door waiting patiently for some bread. This morning, a lone mallard was also competing for the bread, but kept getting chased off quite loudly by mallard #1. Completing the scene was a big rabbit or hare, hopping along eating the grass.
The kids all went out on the deck to watch.
