Just testing a new service called photrade.
on tabblo.com! - just a quick way to make a nice mosaic for my blog.
We’ve had beautiful spring weather the last few days, but today a southerly is blasting through. We’ve had over 2 inches of rain with high winds and temps in the 40s! Brrr! It’s not often that it gets this cold this late in October. Monday was Labour Day and it’s traditionally the day that everyone works in their gardens. It wasn’t the nice sunny weather that we’d gotten used to. We had some rain but it cleared up for part of the day, so I was able to get these photos of some of the new growth in our garden.
Today, however, these photos would be quite impossible. I was pleased to have taken them yesterday.
1. beacon, 2. fog, 3. first morning of winter
Winter dawned cool and foggy this morning. I took these photos about 7:30 in the morning before the rest of the house was even downstairs. I haven’t heard any predictions about what kind of winter we might expect this year, but I suspect it might be rainier than usual. At least it seems that way.
The 2006 Genesis Energy Wairarapa International Balloon Fiesta was held this past weekend.
We’ve had shocking weather the last few days so many of the events were rained out. But this Sunday morning it was calm and dry (sorta) enough to hold the Key Grab event at Henley Lake.

Here’s another one from the set particularly for Grammy.

1. cloud formation #1, 2. sunset over the prizegiving (cloud formation 2), 3. the last glimpse of sunset (cloud formation 3)
Photos taken at 7:37pm, 7:56pm, and 8:27pm
A neat series of cloud shots taken over the course of 50 minutes. Funnily, the first 2 photos were taken down at Lakeview School and the last one was taken from our front deck.
